I recieved a report of an otter sighting in Velarde on Dec 15, I visited the site but did not find any otter tracks. Farther downriver I found this track at a ditch diversion.(there is a gray fox track just behind it). This is the first report of an otter downstream from the release site. Its not far from thereto the Rio Chama.
